The Occold Conservation and Wildlife Group held their inaugural meeting in November 2021. The aim of the group is to improve the wildlife environment in the village to encourage diversity in the flora, and fauna and to make sure wherever possible that the school are involved in the process. The meeting invited the participants to list those areas or items that they were interested in taking forward. This was refined into a summary document which can be found here.
The group co-ordinator is Chris Hook. Chris has drafted a discussion document that he presented to the Parish Council at their April committee meeting with a view of getting endorsement of the early thoughts, some funding and support. A copy of his presentation can be found here. Chris appreciates that the group is at the beginning of a process which will develop over the next few years into something which will benefit all the fellow inhabitants in the village.
Chris would welcome input and offers of support to help make things happen. He can be contacted at chris0hook@gmail.com.
